Since 2015, the Bastrop County Bar Association in order to raise scholarship funds for high school seniors has performed theatrical court cases like "The Shootout in Cedar Creek: The State of Texas vs. Orange W. Wicks", "State of Texas v. Jeff Fitzpatrick", "An 1883 Christmas in McDade: A lynching, a gunfight and a murder trial", and "A Trial That Never Was: The Shooting of Richard Armstrong Shirley".
Bobby jenkins memorial scholarship
These performances are held each spring in April to assist in raising funds for the Bobby Jenkins Memorial Scholarship Fund. Each year the Association offers scholarships to senior high school students residing in Bastrop County. Due to the success of the Association's fundraising over $10,000.00 in scholarships have been awarded each year.
